Pretty little birds, found all over the place here. On my first bird walk at the Desert Botanical Gardens, the guide pointed out to me the dove's turquoise ring around its eye. Pretty, no?

I'm a transplant from north of the Adirondacks in New York to the Sonoran Desert of Arizona. This blog is a record of the birds I've seen here and in my travels. It's turned into a pretty good catalog of the birds you can expect to see in Arizona. None of the photos are mine, but I've tried to pick images that best represent these birds in my mind.
